In Illinois, Medical Assistants can be delegated by a Physician to perform Laser and Injections!
Laser training is included for our Esthetics and Medical Assisting students.
Although Estheticians cannot operate laser in Illinois, we believe that every person practicing skin care needs to have an extensive knowledge of the technologies used in skin care and a medical setting. The laser class we offer for our students is provided by our partners and professionals in Laser technology: AAMP.
Academy’s relation to Dermatology, unique curriculum and advanced training build up our reputation of the best Skin Care and Spa school.
The laser is one of today’s most popular and versatile beauty tools. These exciting beams of light energy come in many forms and provide doctors with both “cool” and “hot” options for improving or eliminating issues as needed. The beams of light energy can help eliminate wrinkles, acne scars, brown spots and other skin imperfections to reveal a more youthful, healthier complexion. They can also remove unwanted facial hair and tattoos.
When used in the cosmetic industry lasers offer a wide range of treatments for nearly all skin types, and a variety of skin issues, including:
Wrinkles and age spots
Sun damage
Acne
Redness
Unwanted hair
Unwanted tattoos
Skin tone and texture
Spider veins
The laser class for our students is provided by our partners and professionals in Laser technology–Aesthetic Medical Modalities & Procedures (AMMP).
We want our students to learn from the best! AMMP are laser distributors that also train physicians to operate them. They come to our Academy with all the equipment to provide hands-on training at our facility. Upon completion each student receives a Laser Certificate of Attendance from AAMP.
The seminar is divided into two main parts: theoretical and demonstration/practical.
Because AMMP equips medical offices with lasers, they help our students stay up-to-date with all of the new devices and trends. No dermatologist or plastic surgeon knows lasers better than the people who train physicians on the subject! Their instructors make sure that students become familiar and comfortable with the types of cosmetic laser treatments used in today’s market.
In just one day of training, our students learn a variety of laser modalities, laser concepts, procedures in a medical setting, indications, contraindications, skin types on the Fitzpatrick scale and are able to apply it in practice.
Every student leaves the workshop with the understanding of how lasers work and what procedures could be performed with these tools . The class mainly focuses on the hair removal techniques, but it also covers depigmentation, acne scars and condition reduction, laser peels, skin tightening, laser wrinkle reduction and spider vein removal.
